Community Preservation Committee reviews Cranberry Bog appraisals
Community Preservation Committee · Meeting of June 8, 2026
Scituate CPC seeks clarity on Cranberry Bog appraisals. The Community Preservation Committee discussed two appraisals of the property valued at $830,000 and $1,000,000, with significant uncertainty about water rights and buildable acreage. Vice Chair Skyler Chick requested the appraisal distinguish between water value (approximately one million dollars) and buildable land value (approximately $900,000).
Chair Dan Fennelly said he will consult with the appraiser for clarification before the Committee votes prior to the October Town Meeting. If sufficient information is not received in a timely manner, the Committee may postpone consideration to the Spring Town Meeting.
