Bylaw Commission continues code modernization

SCITUATE — Bylaw Review Commission continues systematic modernization of town bylaws, eliminating gendered language. Chairman Nick DiMascio, Clerk Chris Mirarchi, and member Jerry Janofsky processed amendments to multiple sections including terminology updates and elimination of gendered pronouns from moderator appointment language. The commission reviewed Town Meeting votes on three bylaw warrant articles: Article 27 was approved except for a posting requirement, Article 26 did not pass, and Article 39 was indefinitely postponed.
The group noted that the Town Forest Commission is not currently organized.
