Community Preservation Committee approves 3.8 million for Pier 44 Park

SCITUATE — The Community Preservation Committee unanimously approved $3,835,165 for Pier 44 Park development in Scituate. Applicants Corey Miles and Paul Barkowitz revised their proposal to reduce costs by removing landscaping elements, cutting contingency from 30 percent to 10 percent, and eliminating site furnishings to be privately funded. The project includes removal of the current structure, a boardwalk, and small boat tie-up facilities.
All permits are approved. Construction is scheduled to begin in February 2027 and conclude in November 2027. Applicants will seek grant funding with results expected in October 2026.
