Scituate Community Preservation Committee withdraws Sunset Road acquisition article. The committee voted unanimously to pull Article 5 from the April 13 town warrant after an appraisal dispute on one parcel left the acquisition status unresolved. Vice Chair Skyler Chick presided in the absence of Chair Dan Fennelly.
Meanwhile, the panel put the proposed $4,801,597 Pier 44 Park development on hold pending public meetings and cost review, with presenters Corey Miles and Nico Afanasenko citing concerns about demolition and asbestos remediation expenses. The committee also is awaiting a May 12 appraisal for the Cranberry Bog acquisition.
