Preservation Committee Approves $15K for Appleton Field Garden Project

Community Preservation Committee · Meeting of July 13, 2026

Scituate Community Preservation Committee approves $15K for Appleton Field project. The committee voted 9-0 to fund $15,079 for Friends of Appleton Field to construct a storage shed and raised garden beds, reducing the original $16,679 request after determining that the proposed rain barrels do not qualify as permanent fixtures under CPC guidelines. The committee deferred decisions on the Cranberry Bog acquisition, GAR Hall repairs ($48,300), Lawson Gate repairs ($76,495), and the Town Archives Vault project ($1,000,000), all requiring additional information.
