SELECT BOARD RETREAT ESTABLISHES 25 PRIORITIES FOR 2027

Scituate Select Board holds annual retreat to establish 25 priorities for fiscal 2026-2027. All five board members attended the meeting at Scituate Maritime Center to address fiscal pressures and set the coming year's agenda. Town Administrator Jim Boudreau reported an enrollment increase of 13 students at approximately $20,000 each at South Shore Vocational Technical High School.

Member Nico Afanasenko emphasized that service reductions must be considered carefully, noting the IT position request as justified investment. The Board identified 25 topics for 2026-2027, including parking management, speed limit codification, solar and wind energy revenue allocation, and Cushing School site reuse.
