Scituate Select Board approves $2.4 million bond over FEMA delays. The board voted unanimously to issue the bond anticipation note to Truist Securities at 4 percent coupon and 2.78 percent net interest cost, covering a gap in expected FEMA reimbursement for storm damage repairs. Finance Director Nancy Holt noted projects in the permitting phase face uncertain reimbursement while those under construction may receive federal funds.
Town Administrator Jim Boudreau reported seven other communities face similar challenges and described regulatory conflicts between state agencies. The board also voted unanimously to raise the beach parking violation fine from $50 to $150, effective August 10.
