Select Board approves Maritime art contest, Boat Works expansion
Select Board · Meeting of August 18, 2026
Scituate Select Board approves harbor storage expansion and launches art competition. The board unanimously endorsed amendments to the Scituate Boat Works Agreement, expanding slip use for boat staging during shoulder seasons (April 15-May 14 and October 16-November 14) and generating approximately six thousand dollars in additional annual revenue, as negotiated by Harbormaster Stephen Mone. In a separate unanimous vote, the board approved a Call to Artists for the Maritime Center with an October 15 submission deadline; Clerk Freya Schlegel volunteered to serve as a judge.
The winning artwork will be donated to the town and displayed permanently before the 2027 rental season.
