Select Board · Meeting of August 4, 2026

SCITUATE — The Scituate Select Board voted 5-0 to raise the maximum beach parking fine from $50 to $150, effective August 10. Chair Susan Harrison pushed for the full amount, citing a prior Town Meeting vote and calling beach parking "the most frequent topic" in her constituent emails; member Nico Afanasenko had proposed a graduated move to $100 first. The board also approved a $2.4 million Bond Anticipation Note to Truist Securities, carrying a 4 percent coupon, after Town Administrator James Boudreau said FEMA is unlikely to reimburse storm-damage costs.

Separately, the board unanimously revoked the liquor license of CP's Woodfired Pizza, closed since January, calling the move "very unfortunate." Police had issued 293 beach parking tickets as of July 28, with 225 for missing stickers.
