Scituate Select Board Accepts $19,700 Kitchen Donation, Approves New Licenses

SCITUATE — April 7, 2026 — Scituate Select Board accepts $19,700 kitchen donation from local business coalition and approves a slate of new and renewed licenses. The board voted unanimously Tuesday night to accept the in-kind donation from Kitchen Spaces and Interiors LLC, with additional contributions from Birchbond Designs, North River Remodeling, and Cam's Appliance, for the renovation of the kitchen at the Mordecai Lincoln Caretaker's Cottage. The board also approved a new common victualer license for Get Steamed Inc. DBA Nona Bella's Italian Catering at the former CXR Sandwiches location on the Driftway, and a new common victualer license for AZA Coffee Corner and LLC DBA Coffee Corner under new ownership. Two spring special events were approved for Saturday, May 2 — Get to Greenbush, running 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in a new collaboration with Ship Shape Day, and Spring Awakening at the Root, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The board also wrote off $131,248.26 in fiscal year 2022 ambulance charges and $105,722.76 from fiscal year 2023, and reached informal consensus to advance design work on a proposed third water storage tank off Aberdeen Drive — a project expected to cost several million dollars — needed before either of the town's two aging steel tanks, built in 1938 and 1966, can be taken offline for rehabilitation.
