Property Committee advances restoration planning for historic house.

Mordecai Lincoln Property Committee · Meeting of July 15, 2026

SCITUATE — Mordecai Lincoln Property Committee articulates multi-phase restoration strategy for historic Scituate property. Committee Chair James Dishong, Vice-Chair Jim Glinski, and members received an update from special advisor Carmine Bruno outlining priorities and cost estimates for work spanning electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and security systems across the Main House, Caretaker's house, Mill Building, and garage. Dendrochronology testing of wood samples from the Main House is underway with results expected within three weeks.

Analysis of a 19th-century sundial on the property has identified it as likely locally made do-it-yourself craftsmanship; a 501(c)(3) nonprofit status is being explored to support future donations.
