Scituate Planning Board Delays South River Marina Hearing Until September

SCITUATE — May 28, 2026 — Scituate Planning Board extends South River Marina hearing to September, citing DEP delay. The board voted unanimously at its May 28 meeting to continue the public hearing on the mixed-use South River Marina development at 21 Central Avenue and 7 Marshfield Avenue in the Hummerrock Village Residential Overlay District, pushing the next hearing date to September 10, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. and extending the time for action to November 30, 2026, with re-advertising costs to be borne by applicants South River Marina Realty LLC and William Street Realty LLC. The application is pending before three municipal boards simultaneously, all waiting on a determination from the state DEP Waterways program. The board also approved $6,915.71 in purchase orders, including a $5,023.15 return of a water permit surety with interest, and continued a mixed-use workshop conversion project to June 25 pending responses to outstanding peer review comments on stormwater and parking.
