Scituate Planning Board Continues Marina Hearing, Preps Town Meeting Zoning Articles
SCITUATE — February 26, 2026 — Scituate Planning Board continued a stalled marina development hearing for the seventh time and finalized preparations for seven Annual Town Meeting zoning articles. The board voted 4-0 to push the South River Marina Special Permit hearing — for 21 Central Avenue and 7 Marshfield Avenue, sought by South River Marina Realty, LLC and Union Street Realty Trust, LLC — to March 26, with the time for board action extended to May 29, 2026; Town Planner Karen Joseph noted the hearing will require yet another immediate continuance to April 23 because the applicant again missed its submission deadline while awaiting a meeting with the state Department of Environmental Protection. The board then reviewed seven proposed zoning and bylaw articles covering definitions, Table of Uses corrections, Water Resource Protection District clarifications, and building height and setback changes, all headed to a joint Select Board, Advisory Board, and Bylaw Committee session on March 3 at the Senior Center. Chair Patricia Lambert described the package as "basic housekeeping," and the board directed that no zoning articles be placed on the Town Meeting consent agenda. A $82.50 purchase order for peer review services at 19 Ford Place was also approved unanimously.
