SCITUATE — January 21, 2026 — Scituate's Conservation Commission continued a long-disputed coastal ADU application to March 16 and closed a scaled-back North River addition at its January 21 virtual meeting. Attorney Jeff Delisi, representing Steve and Elizabeth Tripp at 30 Marshfield Avenue, arrived without a revised plan after the building department reversed a rear-yard setback ruling days before the meeting, prompting a 4-1 vote to continue — with member Penny dissenting and calling the project "much too much in the area." Neighbor Richard Baza of 22 Marshfield Avenue told the commission the applicants had made "no attempts to alleviate any of my concerns." The commission also heard new notices of intent for a 618-square-foot addition at 61 Brook Street and a home reconstruction at 20 Ridge Hill Road, both continued to February 23, and continued an 8 Newell Street raise-and-rebuild in Hummerock to March 2 after debate over garage doors and riverfront degradation calculations. At 6 Rebecca Road, the board approved a skirting amendment for an elevated pile-supported home, setting the bottom clearance at 24 inches above grade — a standard members said should be codified in writing.
