Scituate Senior Center Names Diane Pico as New Director, Effective July 6
SCITUATE — June 11, 2026 — Scituate Council on Aging names Diane Pico as incoming Senior Center director as longtime leader Linda Hayes Kelley exits. The board met June 11 and confirmed that Pico, most recently director of the Pembroke Senior Center and previously assistant director in Cohasset and a staffer at the Hingham Senior Center, will begin July 6 following a brief overlap with Hayes Kelley. The board also welcomed three new members — Mary Penney, associate member John Penney, and associate member Michael Thaler — and heard that the center logged 484 rides for 74 riders in its most recent transportation reporting period, serviced by six drivers, with a seventh position still unfilled. Assistant Director Kelly Walsh reported 92 to 93 of 115 invited volunteers confirmed for an upcoming appreciation luncheon. Hayes Kelley flagged persistent membership-record and check-in gaps that are causing attendance figures to run low in grant-relevant reports, with a card-reader solution under evaluation.
