SCITUATE — Sister City Cape Verde Committee approves November minutes, plans Foreign Food Festival. The committee reported strong attendance at its Santa Catarina Day event at Untold Brewing, where the first annual Cape Verde ambassador award was presented to Mrs. Andrade and funds were raised for a bathroom and hygiene project in Cape Verde.
The committee will host a Foreign Food Festival on Sunday, March 1st at the Senior Center, 333 First Parish Rd, with catering by King Cuisine and ticket sales through Eventbrite; an upcoming Sister City Project meeting will finalize format, menu, and pricing. The committee is also exploring a five thousand dollar grant program for young entrepreneurship to support a Cape Verdean author.
