Senior Center board accepts director's retirement notice, plans transition

SCITUATE — Senior Center Director Linda Hayes Kelley announced her retirement effective end of June at the Council on Aging/Board of Directors meeting April 9, triggering succession planning. Chair JD Miller oversaw reports from Director Hayes Kelley, Assistant Director Kelly Walsh, Activities Coordinator Gayle Hedstrom, and Outreach Coordinator Jeanine Chisholm detailing 35 new memberships in March, strong activity attendance, expanded grief support and caregiver programs, and the Blue Zone initiative concluding in June. Transportation Coordinator Lauren Manuel reported consistent high-volume demand for medical and programming trips with the new ride-scheduling software fully operational.
South Shore Elder Services, reported by Liaison Kenzy Vandebroek, is navigating a possible merger with Old Colony as its CEO retires.
