Senior Center adopts transportation software ahead of spring season

Scituate Senior Center Board approves transportation software with town budget support. The board authorized the adoption of new scheduling and dispatch software beginning February 26, with training for staff and drivers; the Town agreed to cover the annual cost of either $1,000 for software or $2,500 including iPad hardware. Director Linda Kelley reported 25 new member registrations in January, strong attendance at Blue Zones programming (~70 participants), and ongoing parking constraints tied to food pantry operations and winter conditions.
Transportation operations logged 446 rides over the reporting period, with seven drivers on staff and new hire Mike Barilaro in training. The center is pursuing Scituate Education Foundation and Cultural Council grants to fund expanded multi-week classes and programming.
