Select Board approves three municipal contracts totaling $235,531 after major snowstorm

SCITUATE — Select Board unanimously approves three contracts and new retiree health insurance policy. The board awarded $53,181.44 to Scituate Boat Works for police boat re-powering, $17,800 to Liam Norton for shorebird monitoring, and $164,550 to FM Generator for a middle school shelter generator, with the marine and generator contracts approved on the day after a major snowstorm left 44 percent of town properties without power. The board also unanimously adopted a policy restricting employee retirees after July 1, 2026 from enrolling in town health insurance unless already covered at retirement, and moved the St.
Patrick's Day Parade from March 15 to April 12 due to snow accumulation, among 22 items approved unanimously.
