Select Board approves salt marsh winery license upgrade, votes on multiple infrastructure contracts

SCITUATE — Select Board approves winery license upgrade and infrastructure contracts totaling $829,066. The board unanimously granted The Salt Marsh Winery at 17 New Driftway an upgraded On Premise Section 12 All Alcoholic Beverages License under Special Legislation #H4657, ending a seasonal beer-and-wine arrangement. DPW Director Kevin Cafferty secured a $379,066 change order from Celco Construction for the Humarock water main replacement and a $450,000 authorization to ACK Marine for additional helical piles at Oceanside Drive, with both approved unanimously.
The board also deferred the North Scituate sewer expansion to a September 2026 special town meeting for improved resident review, unanimously approved selling up to 150 transfer station stickers to Norwell residents at $300 each, and directed demolition of the unsafe Cole Parkway gazebo after two engineering reports identified safety hazards.
