Scituate Select Board approves licensing fee overhaul and waterways rate increases. The board unanimously approved municipal license fee increases averaging about 10 percent after a decade of unchanged rates, with alcohol and restaurant permits seeing the largest adjustments; staff researched comparable towns to justify the increases. In a separate unanimous vote, the board also approved a five-year Waterways Enterprise rates plan that will increase mooring fees by one dollar per foot in FY26, FY28, and FY30, reaching eleven dollars per foot by FY30, while residential slip fees will climb approximately eight percent and commercial transient vessel rates will double from fifty to one hundred dollars per night effective immediately.
The votes address longstanding deficiencies identified as affecting the town's bond rating.
