Select Board approves $32.3M in bond anticipation notes for Hatherly Cushing School.

Select Board · Meeting of June 9, 2026

Scituate Select Board approves $32.3 million in bond anticipation notes, with a 2.6 percent net interest cost. Treasurer and Collector Pam Avitabile reported JPMorgan Securities LLC won a May 27 competitive bid at 3.5 percent coupon with a $203,490 premium; $30 million of the notes fund the Hatherly Cushing School project, maturing February 26, 2027. The Board also appointed six new committee members—including John Robotham to the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, Andrea Singer to Sister City Sucy-en-Brie, and Joshua Karpf to the Economic Development Commission—and approved a $64,393.20 golf cart lease and a $77,560.26 brine system contract.

A mobile coffee trailer operated by sisters Samantha and Meghan Pender received a Hawker and Peddler license for beaches and the Lighthouse. The Friends of Scituate Dog Park requested Town assumption of dog park operations, but the Board deferred the vote and directed the Friends to conduct six weeks of community outreach to identify volunteers before reconsidering.
