Scituate Historical Commission advances preservation plan and cemetery protection. The commission moved its Heritage Strategies preservation plan to final-draft stage, with Chair Doug Smith completing edits and a public information session planned for late October. The commission also advanced Groveland Cemetery preservation, with the cemetery scheduled for the fall town-meeting warrant to allow the town to assume ownership from the Trustees.
Dendrochronology research on the Mordecai Lincoln House found the structural core dates to approximately 1750, with some repurposed framing from the late 17th century; the committee will work with Waite Associates on a National Register of Historic Places application.
