SCITUATE — Historical Commission holds demolition review hearing on historic Neal Gate Street property. Chair Doug Smith presented the January 22 hearing on the George H. Sables House, a Queen Anne structure eligible for National Register listing that applicant Faceoff Holdings seeks to demolish for four-lot subdivision.

Applicant representative Ben Virga cited structural issues and code violations; abutters Jim Toomey and Liz Esse Kahrs raised preservation concerns. The commission scheduled a February 14 site visit and continued the hearing to February 26.
