Historical Commission authorizes preservation awards program

Scituate Historical Commission launches preservation awards initiative. The panel unanimously approved March minutes and authorized a new Preservation Awards program to recognize owners of restored historic homes and buildings in town. The application deadline is June 1, with awards ceremony planned for August Heritage Days; Chairman Doug Smith will coordinate with the Scituate Chamber of Commerce.

The Commission also reported progress on the Mordecai Lincoln House restoration project and coordinated with South Shore Regional Vocational Technical School to restore Tercentenary Signs.
