Committees Unanimously Recommend $27M North Scituate Sewer Project

Capital Planning Committee · Meeting of April 1, 2026

SCITUATE — Three Scituate committees unanimously recommend the $27 million North Scituate sewer expansion project. The Select Board voted 4-0, the Capital Planning Committee 3-0, and the Advisory Committee 8-0 to recommend Special Town Meeting Article 6. Town Administrator James Boudreau highlighted that financing through the low-interest Massachusetts Clean Water Trust at 1.9 percent rather than 4 percent would save $5.45 million in interest costs.

The project must be approved by the June 30 state deadline to secure that funding and preserve a $5 million Massworks grant.
