Traffic Rules and Regulations Committee · Meeting of September 15, 2026

SCITUATE — The Scituate Traffic Rules and Regulations Committee voted unanimously to remove a crosswalk at 26 Brook Street serving the former Senior Center. The five-member committee, including Officer Tobey Britton, William Schmidt, Sean McCarthy, Select Board Liaison Nico Afanasenko, and Planning Board Liaison Ann Burbine, directed the Department of Public Works to remove associated signs and paint markings. The committee also addressed safety concerns at 3rd Cliff, where residents requested improved visibility of a DO NOT ENTER sign and community reminder about one-way traffic between Moorland and Driftway roads.

The committee began reviewing Oceanside Drive for safety improvements and launched planning for a comprehensive Traffic Schedule review covering speed limits, parking, e-bike regulations, and pedestrian access.
