Commission on Disabilities approves budget, plans accessibility initiatives

SCITUATE — The Scituate Commission on Disabilities has approved its budget and is planning accessibility initiatives. Treasurer Athena Brodsky reported a $4,132.33 Commission on Disabilities budget and $7,251.87 in collected handicap parking fines; the report passed unanimously. Brodsky and member Dan Fogarty are tasked with identifying a credentialed trainer for a six-week American Sign Language course, likely at the Scituate Library.
The commission is also participating in MVP2.0, a municipal vulnerability planning grant with a $50,000 seed budget focused on climate resilience for at-risk populations.
