Capital Planning Committee reviews capital projects, budget savings

Scituate Capital Planning reviews equipment purchases and planning for fiscal years 2028 to 2031. Chair Mike Gibson's committee reviewed completed capital purchases including a bucket truck that came in $86,000 under budget and Truck #107 now in service with $47,000 remaining in its project balance for additional equipment. Looking ahead to FY28-31, the committee discussed carryover of a mini excavator request, a new 4WD tractor for DPW multipurpose use, and potentially advancing a feasibility study for the Highway and Public Grounds facility.
DPW Director Kevin Cafferty and Highway Superintendent Mike Breen outlined further equipment and facility considerations.
