Bicycle Committee advances grant projects, schedules open house for January 26.

Scituate Bicycle Committee approves Mass DOT grant for bike rack spending. Chair Nancy Werner will coordinate implementation with the Department of Public Works, with individual racks estimated at three to four thousand dollars each; the committee discussed placement on town property and potential private sponsorships. The committee received updates on the Waterfield Design feasibility study for a First Parish bike route from Grove Street to Kent Street and discussed interim traffic-calming options including sharrows and one-way streets.

Recreation Department staff are installing two bike repair stations and additional racks at Mordecai Lincoln Park, while planning a Spring Rodeo on April 26 and a National Bike Month bingo card campaign targeting a roll-or-walk day in schools on May 6.
