SCITUATE — The Scituate Advisory Committee reviewed FY27 school budgets and discussed a regional district amendment. Interim Superintendent Tom Raab presented the Scituate School Department's 55 million dollar FY27 budget as level services, with special education at 29 percent of spending and no athletic fees. South Shore Regional School District Superintendent Tom Hickey reported the district's 18.79 million dollar FY27 budget represents a 10.92 percent increase, with Scituate's assessment rising 111,073 dollars from enrollment growth; the district seeks to add Pembroke, potentially reducing member towns' costs by 10 percent by FY32 while trimming Scituate's allocated seats by one to three beginning in FY28.
